FY 2027 County Budget Approved
Rockwall County commissioners approved the county’s fiscal year 2027 budget during their Sept. 8 regular meeting, adopting the spending plan in a 5-0 record vote. Officials said the budget includes the revision sheet the court had agreed to the previous week.
The budget will guide county operations in the new fiscal year across services residents use every day. According to the meeting recap, that includes public safety, courts, records management, tax office operations and other county departments.
Commissioners took the vote as part of a broader set of budget-related actions that also included adopting the county tax rate. Together, those moves finalized major financial decisions for the upcoming fiscal year and set the framework for how county services will be funded and delivered.
County officials identified the adopted budget as one of the meeting’s biggest takeaways for Rockwall residents because it shapes spending across a wide range of local government functions. The unanimous vote closed out one of the court’s most consequential annual responsibilities heading into fiscal year 2027.
