County Tax Rate Adopted

September 9, 2026 1 min read

Rockwall County commissioners formally adopted the county tax rate for fiscal year 2027 during their Sept. 8 regular meeting, setting the rate at $0.2620 per $100 of assessed value. The vote was unanimous, 5-0.

For homeowners and businesses in Rockwall County, the action locks in the county portion of the property tax bill that will apply with the new fiscal year. The tax rate was one of the clearest decisions to come out of a meeting focused heavily on budget and operations matters.

The adopted rate came alongside the court’s approval of the county’s fiscal year 2027 budget, giving residents a clearer picture of both the revenue side and the spending plan for the coming year. County officials described those two actions as among the meeting’s biggest takeaways for local residents.

Because the county tax rate directly affects annual property tax bills, the vote is one of the most immediate actions taken by commissioners for Rockwall residents. The court approved the measure without dissent, signaling full agreement on the rate as the county heads into the new budget year.
