Boards Discuss Possible Bylaw Revisions in Joint Meeting

Princeton’s Economic Development Corporation met jointly with the Community Development Corporation on October 20, 2026, and spent much of the meeting discussing possible bylaw changes related to leadership, board authority, and procedures. Several bylaw changes were discussed but not finalized.

Executive Session Ended With No Action

Both boards went into closed session at 6:14 p.m. for possible discussions involving legal advice, real property, personnel matters, and economic development negotiations. They returned at 8:43 p.m. and announced no action would be taken.

Resident Urged More Public Decision-Making

During a public comment, Terrence Johnson of Princeton Meadows asked the boards to revisit bylaw changes that he said made staff more autonomous. He urged the boards to make decisions on the dais in public so residents can see how those decisions are made.

Staff reported that the city issued 282 single-family permits in the past month, the highest total among the surveyed cities. Staff said that was 29 more than the next closest city and represented a 106% increase year over year.

Sales Tax Revenue Continued To Climb

Staff reported approximately $198,000 in September sales tax receipts, up 10% from the prior fiscal year. Year-to-date totals were reported at $2.2 million, about a 5% increase.
