Plano Commission Approves Church Replat, 50-Home Plat, School Replat

The Plano Planning and Zoning Commission on November 2 approved a Meadows Baptist Church replat tied to a 50-home neighborhood, a Plano ISD school site replat, and updates to two pillars of the city's comprehensive plan. Every item that went to a vote passed 7-0, with Commissioner Barron absent because of a family obligation, and the commission also elected new first and second vice chairs.

Church Property Split Approved

Commissioners voted 7-0 to approve a preliminary replat and revised site plan for Meadows Baptist Church Addition, Block 1, Lot 1R, at the northwest corner of Los Rios Boulevard and Merriman Drive. Senior Planner John Kim said the item divides the 14.0-acre property, zoned Planned Development-173-Estate Development, into separate subdivisions for the existing church and a proposed single-family neighborhood. Staff received one letter of support from the church. Commissioner Bronsky made the motion, saying the project gives Plano room for 50 more single-family homes, and Commissioner Olley seconded.
