County Backs Hospital Funding, Approves Road Sign Changes

Collin County Commissioners Court on Sept. 28 approved a new hospital funding rate and signed off on regulatory road sign changes, two actions that could matter to Lavon residents who rely on county roads and hospital care in the broader Collin County network. Most of the meeting was routine, but these were the clearest updates with a supported connection to Lavon.

County Sets New Hospital Participation Rate

Commissioners approved the fiscal year 2027 rate for the Local Provider Participation Fund at 6% of inpatient net patient revenue and 6% of net patient revenue for hospitals. County officials said the program helps private hospitals draw down matching federal Medicaid funds without adding a surcharge to residents' bills. For Lavon families, that means continued county support for a funding tool meant to help hospitals serving Collin County patients, including people on Medicaid or without insurance.
