Frisco Approves Animal Facility Design Contract, Hears GoZone Expansion Update

Frisco City Council used its November 3 meeting to approve a design contract for the city's animal facility, sign off on two rezoning cases and fill a Visit Frisco board seat. Members also heard that the GoZone on-demand transit service has doubled its coverage area.

GoZone Service Area Doubles

Engineering Services reported that GoZone has doubled its service area since launching May 5, and now covers about 72 percent of Frisco residents. Rides cost about $3 to $5 depending on distance and run 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Staff said the service had used 12 percent of its budget at the halfway point of its first year, and that the savings allowed the expansion. New riders can get two free rides through the end of the year.
