FEDC Discusses Marketing and Best Center Improvements

The Farmersville Economic Development Corporation discussed marketing and improvements to the Best Center. The meeting included discussion of billboards, advertising, building painting, landscaping, liaison updates, an attorney invoice, and an executive session on Project Eagle.

Budget Cleared With No Changes

Members said the 2026-27 fiscal year budget had been adopted by City Council as presented, with no changes. Members also said the FEDC could now move forward with spending plans in the budget, including marketing and building improvements.

Second Billboard Contract Authorized

Members received an update that the first billboard was already up and said it was easy to read at highway speed. They then voted to authorize Rodney to enter a one-year contract with Linmar for billboard number one on 380. The board also discussed doing a 12-month agreement and using the same billboard design with directional wording changed.

Sports Yearbook Ads Still Taking Shape

Staff said two half-page ads had already been placed in the Stars and Mavericks yearbooks, but the campaign content was still undecided. Members discussed whether those ads should target families, businesses, or both. Staff said it would bring back ideas, examples from other cities, and more information at a future meeting.

Business-Targeted Chamber Ad Still Under Review

Members also reviewed a separate ad option through the Dallas Regional Chamber that staff described as business-focused and aimed at site selectors and business owners who visit the chamber. No action was taken. Members said they wanted to revisit the idea at a future meeting and noted a February deadline.

Best Center Paint Plan Approved

The board voted to paint the Best Center to match the Chamber of Commerce building. Members also discussed rotten exterior wood, exterior painting after the new budget begins, and possible landscaping later.
