Not every week brings a splashy local move. This one was quieter, with county action light for Celina even as a countywide service warned demand is climbing.

This Week's Coverage

Commissioners Court · October 19, 2026

No Clear Celina-Specific County Moves Surface

Collin County Commissioners Court on Oct. 19 spent most of its public discussion on a Children’s Advocacy Center update, a monthly asset loss report, and a public comment about the county bond election. For Celina residents, the meeting did not produce any clearly city-specific county actions, project decisions, contracts, or infrastructure updates tied directly to Celina.

Children’s Advocacy Center Highlights Countywide Child Abuse Services

The court heard a detailed update from the Children’s Advocacy Center, which serves abused children across Collin County. CEO Dan Powers said the center handled 1,066 forensic interviews last year and reported rising demand as the county grows. He said more services are shifting north to the group’s McKinney center, but officials did not discuss any new site, program, or county action specifically connected to Celina.

Risk Report Covers Vehicle Wreck And Camp Break-In

County staff also presented the monthly asset loss report. Officials said a sheriff’s office vehicle was heavily damaged in a rear-end crash and that the county expects to seek reimbursement through insurance. Staff also reported a break-in at the county’s Adventure Camp that caused major property damage and losses. No Celina location or service impact was identified during that discussion.
