Couch Drive Warehouse Site Plan Withdrawn After Buyer Drops Purchase

A proposed warehouse development on Couch Drive is no longer moving forward after the applicant decided not to buy the property and withdrew the site plan application, according to city staff at the May 12 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.

The site is on Couch Drive, just north of Recovery Way. Commissioners were told the case would be tabled indefinitely, which removes the industrial proposal from consideration in its current form for now.

A site plan is the stage where city officials review how a development would be laid out on a property, including building placement and access. In this case, staff said the applicant was backing away from the purchase, so the review process would not continue.

The withdrawn warehouse case was one of several development items discussed during the meeting. While two residential rezoning requests moved forward to McKinney City Council, the Couch Drive industrial proposal did not advance.

Because the application was withdrawn, no warehouse project is set to proceed on that property under the current request. Any future development proposal for the site would need to come back through the city process as a separate case.
