Developers Present Plans for Mixed-Use Project Near Highway 380
A Dallas-based development group presented preliminary plans for a 65-acre mixed-use development that would include retail, dining, and residential units.
Representatives from Heritage Development Group appeared before the planning and zoning commission to present conceptual plans for a mixed-use development along Highway 380.
The proposed project would include approximately 180,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 250 multi-family residential units, and a 4-acre public park. The development would be built in three phases over approximately five years.
Commission members asked questions about traffic impact, water and sewer capacity, and how the project would connect to existing trail systems. No formal action was taken as this was an informational presentation only.
The development would require rezoning of the property from agricultural to planned development district. A formal application is expected to be submitted in February.
Why It Matters
This would be the largest mixed-use development in Princeton to date and could significantly impact traffic patterns, property values, and city services in the eastern part of town.
What Happens Next
The developers will submit formal rezoning and site plan applications. Public hearings before the planning commission and city council are expected in March and April.
